You're invited!  The U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) with our local partners and additional special guests are hosting a House Party to emphasize the agency's commitment to helping everyone achieve their dreams of owning a home: June 12th 2:00p-8:00p at the Plaza Hotel Columbus at Capitol Square (75 E. State Street) and the Columbus Commons.  This free event is for everyone who’s interested in purchasing a home or is already a homeowner. Let’s Make Home the Goal!

The purpose of the House Party is to share information about public and private resources available to make home ownership a reality, encourage the utilization of Housing Counseling, bust common myths and assumptions, depict real-life success stories and how to maintain homeownership.  This event will feature HUD-approved housing counseling agencies, free credit checks, mortgage lenders, realtors, door prizes, food trucks, line dancing, and a DJ. 

Participants will include HUD Office of Housing Counseling (OHC), Columbus Urban League, Homeport, CONVERGENCE Columbus, City of Columbus Housing Division, HUD Philadelphia Homeownership Center (AHOC); HUD Office of Single Family Housing (SFH); HUD Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO); Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) Rise Center, Central Ohio  Community Improvement Corp/Community Land Trust (COCIC/CLT), Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC), Columbus Area Board of Realtors, Columbus Realtist Association, and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) among others and many more.

The House Party has three simultaneously activities with something for everyone: 1). Housing Resource Expo; 2). Homeownership Information Session (everyone you need to know to buy and maintain a home); 3). Family Fun Festival @ Columbus Commons with food trucks, Games, Door prizes, DJ, line dancing, raffles and genuine fun for all ages!
