The City of Columbus is modernizing its zoning code for the first time in more than 70 years. A zoning code is a set of rules and procedures that regulates what can and can’t be built on a particular piece of property – it influences where we live, where we work and how we get around. Columbus’ zoning code hasn’t been comprehensively updated in 70 years and is no longer supporting smart growth.
The City of Columbus is working to modernize our code, and we need the help of the community to ensure the code supports equitable growth. We encourage you to attend our community conversations which will provide an opportunity to learn, discuss and ideate around many different aspects of zoning.
