Slowing population growth, changing demographics, ongoing trends in household formation, and future immigration levels that are unclear, at best, will all factor into future growth in the number of households, which is the primary driver of new housing demand. Daniel McCue, a Senior Research Associate at the Center, will share our new household projections for 2025-2045, explain the factors that drove them, and explore how they might affect the demand for new housing in the next two decades.
