Opportunity Zones, introduced as part of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), have been one of the biggest development finance success stories in the past decade. Unfortunately, the Opportunity Zones program expires at the end of 2026, and without new legislation, the program will end. However, there is considerable discussion, which CDFA is a part of, about a new Opportunity Zones 2.0 program.
CDFA anticipates that new Opportunity Zones 2.0 legislation will be introduced in the coming months to authorize a new ten-year period for the program. CDFA was vital in the original program development, and we will be taking a very active role in the potential for Opportunity Zones 2.0.
Join us on January 28 as we host a national roundtable discussion on the potential for new OZ legislation. The CDFA Advocacy Briefing: Opportunity Zones 2.0 is free and everyone in the development finance industry is welcome to attend. Register today!
