The Ohio Healthy Homes Network is pleased to present Ohio's Medicaid-Funded Lead Abatement Program, one of six free webinars in the Fall Healthy Homes Webinar Series held October 19-22. Ohio’s Medicaid-Funded Lead Hazard Abatement Program is providing major resources for lead abatement in the homes of lead poisoned children in almost every Ohio County. The program is the result of a partnership between the Ohio Department of Medicaid’s State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) and the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program of the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) to provide lead paint hazard testing and removal. At the end of FY 20, ODH had completed more than 120 units and generated a waiting list of about 300 households. Learn about this popular lead abatement program including its history, progress to date and current challenges, as well as grants to local agencies.
