Housing, Hazards and Health Grant Opportunity Webinar

A healthy place to call home is a critical need for our children and families, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Local leaders can take action against environmental hazards that may exacerbate the impact of the coronavirus by helping ensure that homes in their communities are free of toxic substances, especially lead and those that trigger respiratory diseases such as asthma. Join this informational webinar to learn about the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Grant Program, from HUD Lead and Healthy Homes Program Division Director, Yolanda Brown. Along with moderator, National League of Cities (NLC)’s Program and Partnership Development Director for Institute for Youth, Education & Families (YEF) Anthony Santiago and NLC’s Program Specialist of Health & Wellness at YEF, Anne Li, presenters will discuss the opportunity which provides lead grant and Healthy Homes Supplemental grant funding for state, county, and city jurisdictions. Jurisdictions participating in the grant program can use the funds to conduct lead hazard reduction and healthy homes interventions for under-served families.
