From Surviving to Thriving: The Connection Between Safety, Belonging & LGBTQ+ Friendly Senior Housing

In celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride month, the Enterprise LGBTQ + Allies Employee Resource Group is hosting a virtual event around providing LGBTQ+ seniors with access to affordable housing with vital resident services.

Our program will include two interactive conversations on policy solutions for advancing the LGBTQ+ senior community’s access to housing and best practices for developing housing that is affordable and welcoming to LGBTQ+ older adults.

The first conversation, which will discuss policy solutions for advancing LGBTQ+ friendly senior housing, will feature:

• Marion McFadden, Senior Vice President for Public Policy, Enterprise (Moderator)
• Julie Bates, Interim Senior Advisor, AARP
• Cassandra Cantave, Senior Research Advisor, AARP
• Tanisha Hines, Assistant Director of the National LGBT Elder Housing Initiative, SAGE
• Sydney Kopp-Richardson, Director of the National LGBT Elder Housing Initiative, SAGE

The second conversation, which will discuss best practices for developing LGBTQ+ friendly senior housing, will feature:

• Charlie Adams, Regional Vice President, New England, Pennrose
• Stacie Birenbach, Senior Director for Real Estate Development, Enterprise Community Development
• Ed Miller, Senior Program Coordinator, William Way LGBT Community Center
• Nii Sowah, Vice President for Community Impact Strategies, Enterprise Community Development

This event, which is part of Enterprise’s annual Diversity, Equity & Inclusion celebrations and events, will be livestreamed on the Enterprise Community Partners Facebook page
