Using Evidence for Impact: Data, Research, and Evaluation

The Urban Institute and The Pew Charitable Trusts invite you to a conversation about how federal and state agencies and other organizations can use evidence when making decisions. The Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act of 2018 and President Biden’s recent memorandum on restoring trust in government through scientific integrity and evidence-based policymaking both emphasize the importance of strengthening the federal infrastructure for evidence-informed policymaking.

This forum will showcase how practitioners use evidence. It will highlight examples of using different types of evidence—performance metrics, administrative and statistical data, survey research, formal program evaluation results—when making decisions about policy, programs, and management.
