In the next five years, over 300,000 federally-assisted apartments and rental homes will reach the end of their current subsidy contracts and affordability restrictions for low-income families. While many of these homes will remain in the affordable housing stock, others could be permanently lost. The National Housing Preservation Database (NHPD) makes it easier than ever to identify affordable rental properties. The NHPD includes a mapping tool that allows users to pinpoint federally assisted properties of interest; a searchable database that allows users to download property and subsidy level data on affordable rental properties; and newly available preservation profiles that report the number of homes at risk of loss in each state. Join the Public and Affordable Housing Research Corporation (PAHRC) for our webinar, Using the National Housing Preservation Database, on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 2-3 p.m. ET. Participants will learn how to: • Utilize the latest features of the NHPD through a live demonstration • Identify federally-assisted properties at risk of loss • Recognize risk factors that increase the likelihood of a property to being lost from the federally-assisted housing stock Speakers: • Kelly McElwain, Lead Research Analyst, PAHRC • Eric Brushett, Research Analyst, PAHRC
